Effective February 1, 2025, Waste Pro became the new waste and recycling collection provider in the the Town of Oakland. Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I recycle my old trash can?

Old trash cans and green recycle totes can be used for yard debris collection, or can be recycled by dropping off at 205 E Gulley. Ave. They should not be used for trash collection after Feb 1.

What is my collection day?

Garbage Collection is picked up on Tuesdays OR Fridays. Please see the map below to determine your day of the week.

Recycling is picked up on Thursday. 

Yard Waste is picked up on Wednesdays. 

Please place all items on the curb by 7:00 a.m. for pickup. 

Holiday Schedule:

Thanksgiving and Christmas

If your collection day falls on one of these holidays, your collection service will be moved to the following Saturday.

Bulk Pick-up Information: 

Regulated bulk pick up will be collected on the designated trash day. It will need to be scheduled by contacting Waste Pro. https://www.wasteprousa.com/town-of-oakland/#bulk-appliances
