Kathleen Richards

Welcome to Oakland Avenue Charter School!  Whether you’ve been a part of our family in the past, or you are new to it, I am happy you’re here!   My name is Kathleen Richards. This will be my first year hear at Oakland Avenue Charter school, and I am excited to join the family as well!

A little bit about myself: This will be my fifth year teaching kindergarten! The amount of growth that students make throughout the kindergarten year is one of many reasons that I love teaching! My goal is to inspire and encourage your child in their learning journey this year. I like to say that learning is an adventure, and we are getting ready to set sail!

Before coming to Oakland Avenue Charter School, I completed my Bachelor in Arts of Elementary Education at Warner University in Lake Wales. After graduating, I was a substitute teacher before becoming a long-term substitute in kindergarten. I was later hired by the same school and taught there for four full years. I am excited to begin my fifth year of teaching in the Oakland family! I am also currently working on my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Warner University.

I look forward to being a part of your family this school year.  Together, we will inspire your child to be a lifelong learner.  I can’t wait to see what this school year holds!
