VOLUNTEER AT THE Healthy West Orange Arts AND Heritage Center

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Healthy West Orange Arts and Heritage Center at the Town of Oakland! Volunteers are the core of the Center and help to promote the mission and programs we offer to the community. We are accepting volunteer applications at this time.

The Center is open Wednesday through Fridays from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., and Saturdays with volunteers.

Opportunities to work as docents are available for adults aged 18+ and students aged 16-18 (for community service hours). Duties include greeting visitors, event staffing, answering questions, and special projects such as historical research and archives.

Please email Arts&Heritage@oaklandfl.gov or visit the Center during operating hours for an application form. All applicants must consent to a criminal background check pursuant to Florida Statutes 435.04(2). The application includes a list of background criteria included in the search.

Upon completion and signature of the application, email the application to Arts&Heritage@oaklandfl.gov or mail it to:

Town of Oakland
Attn: Arts and Heritage Center
PO Box 98
Oakland, FL 34760

If selected to volunteer, the Town HR Department will forward a link to you via email to provide information directly to our background check provider. Once the background check is complete, the Town will notify the applicant of their screening status. Cleared volunteer applicants will be contacted for an orientation and training session, and then scheduled for volunteer shifts.
