My name is Shane Taylor and I am proud and honored to serve as the 36th Mayor of Oakland. 

Like many of you, I’m blessed to call Oakland home. With its unique character and undeniable beauty, Oakland extends a warm welcome to all who live, visit, or work within its boundaries. 

When in Oakland, you’ll be sure to appreciate our town’s sounds and sights of nature, welcomed by a community of neighbors who care. 

Oakland truly is a special place. At just under 2.5 square miles and home to nearly 6,000 residents, our town is one full of small-town charm, coupled with amenities such as Oakland Nature Preserve, Oakland Charter School, and a town center which is home to Healthy West Orange Arts & Heritage Center.

As the Mayor, my key focus is to serve and govern the Town of Oakland through steady, informed, trusted leadership that will ensure a bright, prosperous and fulfilling future for all residents and businesses. 

In addition to serving our community, I look forward to cultivating an exceptional quality of life for all Oakland residents. I am committed to preserving the distinctive charm and character that makes our community truly special, while simultaneously driving progress. By fostering connections among neighbors, bolstering our commercial business landscape, and implementing forward-thinking initiatives, together we will guide Oakland into a future brimming with opportunity.
