Town Operations

Oakland Avenue Charter School
The Oakland Avenue Charter School will be open for staff and students on Thursday, August 31.
Orange County Public Schools
OCPS iwill be open for staff and students on Thursday, August 31.
Trash Collection
Trash collection will resume on Friday, September 1, following the normal schedule.
Sandbags
Please consider saving and storing your sandbags for future use. If you decide to dispose, empty the sand in low areas of your lawn before disposal.
Traffic Lights
Per Orange County: If you are on the road, you are urged to drive with caution. The County is still experiencing wind and rain. If you approach an intersection and see the traffic signal is not functioning normally, follow these rules: bit.ly/3fQ7GFY. Residents can report inoperable traffic lights by dialing 3-1-1 or 407-836-3111.
- Light Out: Treat like a 4-way stop
- Flashing Red: Treat like a stop sign
- Flashing Yellow: Slow down and use extreme caution

State of Emergency
On August 29, 2023, the Honorable Ron DeSantis, Governor of the State of Florida, issued Executive Order 23-175 declaring a State of Emergency in the County of Orange, State of Florida due to Hurricane Idalia. As a result, Town of Oakland Mayor Kathy Stark signed a Proclamation issuing a Local State of Emergency on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. View the Governor's Executive Order.
