[ARCHIVED] East Oakland Avenue Road Construction

Social Templates (1)

The Town of Oakland has introduced a new school zone speed enforcement program near Oakland Avenue Charter School to help improve student safety.

Two speed cameras have been installed along Oakland Avenue.  A 30-day warning period begins on August 11, 2025, during which drivers traveling speeds higher than 10 miles per hour over the posted speed limit will receive a warning notice.  Starting September 10, 2025, citations will be issued in compliance with Florida law.  Each citation carries a $100 fine.

This program is designed to encourage drivers to slow down and stay alert in areas where children are present.  Slower speeds save lives.

The program is funded by violators and comes at no cost to taxpayers or the residents of Oakland.  All violations are reviewed and approved by law enforcement before any citation is issued.

KEY INFORMATION:

  • 30-Day Warning Period Start Date:  August 11, 2025
  • GO-LIVE Date:  September 10, 2025
  • Citation Cost:  $100
  • Locations:  Oakland Avenue Charter School (Eastbound and Westbound)
