The police station is located at 540 East Oakland Avenue. It is part of the public safety building, at the corner of East Oakland Avenue and Motomassek Street. The parking lot is located at the rear of the building. -

If you have been involved in an incident or a traffic crash which was investigated by the Oakland Police Department, you may obtain a copy of the report from our records section, located at the Police Station, at 540 E Oakland Avenue. The normal hours for our records section are from 8:30 a.m. until noon and 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. These reports are generally available 7 days after the incident or crash.
The cost for copying reports is $0.15 for a single sided page and $0.20 for a double sided page. Any administrative costs associated with the copying of reports or other records are in accordance with Florida State Statutes.

Florida law requires that a bicycle rider or passenger under the age of 16 must wear a helmet that meets the nationally recognized standards for bicycle helmets. Additionally it is unlawful to rent a bicycle to a person under the age of 16 unless the person has an approved helmet or is provided one with the bicycle. The Police Department depends on citizens to call in and report crimes or other incidents that may seem suspicious. If you observe an emergency, dial 911. If you have reason to believe that the Oakland Police Department has property belonging to you that was either lost, taken in a theft or turned in for safe keeping, you can call the Department at 407-656-9797, from 8:30 a.m. until noon and from 1 p.m. until 4:30, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. If the property can be released you can make arrangements at that time. You may be asked to provide proof of ownership. The town may imprison and/or fine water thieves, up to $1000! Developers and contractors who need to tap into a fire hydrant can do so legally by applying for a permit at the Water Department and getting a hydrant or hose bib meter.Water Department

The short answer is yes. Because the Town of Oakland is regulated by the St. John's River Water Management District, all residents must follow its mandates. Even if you draw water from a private well or draw water from a lake, you must follow the stated irrigation watering restrictions. Some exceptions apply. Hazardous waste includes but is no't limited to paint and paint thinners, used motor oil, freon, cleaning fluids, pesticides, and electronic containing circuit boards. A good rule of thumb for detecting waste as hazardous is by checking the label for any of the following descriptors: corrosive, flammable, or toxic. If you have latex paint cans that are empty and the leftover paint is dry, you may put them in your garbage can. Remember, latex only.
